His Grace Ministries - Uganda is a non-governmental, inter-denominational ministry, registered with the Government of Uganda under the Ministry of Gender and Community Development.

His Grace Ministries was founded in 2006 when God called His servant, Pastor Mukungu Charles to start up a church at a village known as Butangala, Buwenge Rural Area in Jinja District of Uganda with the aim of reaching out to local poor and needy; introducing to them the life giving gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Butangala is a small peasantry community in Buwenge Rural Area in Jinja District, Eastern Uganda located about 22 km from Jjinja Town off Kamuli Road. This place is having a population of approximately 7,000 people and it pre-dominantely comprises of small income farmers, local labourers, alcoholics, orphans and destitues.

It is a place where humble souls who have few and simple wants, live daily on extreme edges of poverty in abject condition.

Pastor Mukungu Charles, who was a long time town dweller in Kampala the capital city of Uganda, yielded wholly to God’s voice and went to live in a deep village he never imagined or ever wanted to be for the sake of fulfilling God’s call upon his life.

God sent him to work in the very place which is also his birth place. Remember John 4:44 which says ".. a prophet has no honour in his own country), but God, whose ways are mysterious , called him to his own country and to serve his own people in a place he was born and raised up.

According to him, the start of the ministry was a difficult process but God was with him through all the challenges. "giving him the catch phrase; Where God Leads, provides" after seeing the fruits of obidiece today.

Currently there is considerable response to the gospel of Jesus Christ by the people within and out side the community and the church has set up various programmes to assist the locals in various areas.

 Apart from local church ministry offered by HIS GRACE CHURCH, we have the following programmes in place.

1. His Grace Nursery and Primary school with over 360 children, offering sponsorship for 37 orphans.
2. His Grace Orphanage Home, offering shelter, feeding and medical care to 25 orphans and vulnerable children
3. Farming Practices for food and self sustenance
4. A Hand craft programme for the widows and single mothers in community
